Tonight was the All-School Awards Night
at Matthew's High School.
Teachers from each department
select a few students from each grade level
as outstanding among their peers.
Matt's done pretty well this year so we headed on over...
thinking he might get nominated for something.
So there we sat...
and sweated...

But, then again, he did make this...
Just lovely, wouldn't you say?But the night wasn't over yet.
Next they gave certificates to all of the students who had a 3.5 G.P.A or above. 130 Freshman in all. Wow.
"Can we go?" he begged.
"PLEEEAAAASE!!"
"No. Kids we know are still getting awards. We need to clap for them."
{this is where he's rolling his eyes at me}
Finally (we're still sweating by the way) they get down to the last awards of the evening. An oustanding male and female Viking from each grade level.
Can you guess?
He got it!
Outstanding Male Freshman. (You get nominated by a teacher and then you write a resume stating your qualifications.)
I was stunned.
(I guess all that Scouting and those service projects DO count for something!)
We're proud of you buddy.
Jason, Spencer, Matt, Isaac and Kristi--
Good Job!
Outstanding Male Viking - Class of 2012

um...we knew we should have moved back to Vacaville so Randall could have had such great friends. AT our house, all he won was Most Attractive Freshman--we are "so proud." What does that mean? I guess he is a good tooth brusher and showers regularly? Yours is way, way more impressive! Way to Go, Matthew!!
Wow! Congratulations to Matthew! Thanks for posting the picture--it was fun to see some 'old' friends...m
I don't know why there is a m on my previous comment
Melissa, have I ever told you how much I love your writing? Well I DO! (You should totally write a book...I will buy it!) Congrats Matthew! You are awesome!
So proud of Matt. What great achievements and honors. Congratulations! The Walter kids who attended Oakmont High School (all but Steve) were Vikings too! Go Vikings!
Way to go, Matthew! We are proud of you!!
Wow! Behind every good kid is amazing parents.....I'd have to say that is definitely true! What a great night. (pay backs for all your hard work)
What a stud!
How ADORABLE. It looks like it was worth all the sweating. And what a great end table he made for you. He is good at "contstruction"! Congratulations!
That's awesome! I think that end table is just beautiful!
